Fiber Color ID
Privacy Policy
Effective September 1, 2026
Overview
This Privacy Policy explains how Fiber Color ID, published by Practical Byte Apps, handles information. The app is designed as an offline-first fiber identification calculator. No account is required to use its core calculator.
Information entered in the calculator
Fiber numbers, cable sizes, tube counts, colors, and other calculator selections are processed on your device. Practical Byte Apps does not receive or store those calculator entries on its servers. Device-local settings may remain until you clear the app’s data or uninstall it.
Advertising data
The free version uses the Google Mobile Ads SDK to display ads. Google states that this SDK may automatically collect and share an IP address, app and ad interactions, diagnostic information, and device or account identifiers. These data may be used for advertising, analytics, and fraud prevention. An IP address may be used to estimate a device’s general location.
Where required, the app will request consent or offer privacy choices before loading eligible advertising. Ad availability and personalization may also depend on your device and Google account settings.
Learn more through the Google Privacy Policy, Google’s explanation of data use on partner apps and sites, and My Ad Center.
Subscriptions and purchases
Optional Pro subscriptions are processed by Google Play. Practical Byte Apps does not receive your full payment-card details. The app may receive purchase status and a purchase token from Google Play so it can determine whether Pro features should be available. Google’s handling of purchase information is governed by its own privacy policy and payment terms.
Support communications
If you email support, Practical Byte Apps receives the email address, message, and any information you choose to include. That information is used to answer your request, troubleshoot problems, prevent abuse, and maintain necessary support records. Avoid sending passwords, payment-card numbers, or other information that is not needed for support.
Sharing and selling information
Practical Byte Apps does not independently sell calculator entries or support messages. Google and advertising partners may process data through the Mobile Ads SDK as described above. Information may also be disclosed when reasonably necessary to comply with law, protect users, investigate fraud, or defend legal rights.
Retention and security
Calculator inputs are not transmitted to Practical Byte Apps. Support communications are retained only as reasonably necessary to respond, maintain records, resolve disputes, and meet legal obligations. Third-party services control their own retention practices. Data transmitted by Google’s Mobile Ads SDK is encrypted in transit. No security method can be guaranteed to be completely secure.
Your choices
You may use the core calculator without creating an account. You can reset or limit the Android advertising identifier through device privacy settings, manage ad preferences in My Ad Center, decline eligible consent choices where offered, clear the app’s local data, or uninstall the app. Google Play subscriptions can be managed through Google Play.
Children’s privacy
Fiber Color ID is intended for adult telecommunications professionals and is not directed to children under 18. Practical Byte Apps does not knowingly solicit personal information from children through the app.
Changes to this policy
This policy may be updated when the app, its service providers, or legal requirements change. The effective date at the top of this page will be revised when an update is posted.
